There are over 10,000 college accredited courses in the USA for "website design". Almost every school, college and university offers them. Website design classes teach their students how to build "pretty websites" that have good functionality. They don't however teach their students how to get a website to show up In Google, Yahoo or Bing. So while they can build a pretty website, if you do not provide your own visitors via TV, radio and other forms of advertising you will most likely have very few, if any, human visitors to your site. Basically, you could end up with a beautiful website that no one ever sees. To our knowledge there is not a single college accredited course in the USA for "website optimization". The reason for this is simple. There is no way to give a final exam. For example if one student builds a website and it ranks number 1 in Google do they get an "A" while another student builds a website and it's number one in Yahoo but does not show up in Google does the college give them an "A" or an "F"? The truth is that Google, Yahoo and the other search engines intentionally hide many of the criteria they use to evaluate websites. This makes anything an instructor might say "speculative" and no college is going to risk it's reputation on "speculation". As a result, all people who do website optimization are self-taught. So, if you started out searching for "website design" we want you to understand that we can design a website for you, build it and optimize it. We also want you to know that none of this is magic. That if you are comparing companies that first you should consider what they can and cannot do for you.
